US carries out limited strikes on Iran's Qeshm Island

Washington, Nov 3 (UNI) On the eve of Election Day, the United States has carried out limited military strikes on Iran's Qeshm Island, targeting what officials described as a "threat to American assets" in the region.
The attack by the US underscores that the situation involving Iran remains unresolved and that further military action remains a possibility.
Three US officials told CNN that the strikes were carried out late Monday as part of a defensive operation after Iran allegedly fired a missile at a US aircraft operating near the Strait of Hormuz.
