Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri's 'The Delhi Files' will now release as 'The Bengal Files'

Mumbai, June 10 (UNI) Bollywood filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri has officially rechristened his upcoming feature 'The Delhi Files' as 'The Bengal Files: Right to life'.
In response to tremendous public demand, the film's producers—Abhishek Agarwal, Pallavi Joshi, and Agnihotri himself—decided to rename and reposition the movie.
Marking the third and final installment of Agnihotri's 'Files Trilogy', the film follows the critical and commercial successes of 'The Tashkent Files' (2019) and 'The Kashmir Files' (2022). which will now be released as 'The Bengal Files: Right to Life'.
The film is based on the communal riots in pre-partition Bengal in the 1940s, particularly focusing on Direct Action Day and the Noakhali riots. Vivek Agnihotri has described these incidents as genocide of Hindus and through this film, he wants to bring this unseen part of Indian history to the fore.
The film stars noted actors like Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher and Pallavi Joshi in significant roles.
Due to heightened security concerns, principal photography was relocated from Kolkata to Mumbai, a decision that brought logistical complexities, yet did little to deter the filmmaker's creative conviction and he is now ready to bring this important story to the audience across the country.
'The Bengal Files: Right to Life', penned by Vivek Agnihotri and co-produced by Abhishek Agarwal, Pallavi Joshi and Agnihotri, will hit the theatres on September 5, 2025.
The film is presented by Tej Narayan Agarwal and I am Buddha Productions.
