We are developing good infrastructure, better players, hope we get hosting rights of 2036 Olympics: Rekha Gupta

New Delhi, Jun 22 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday lend support for the Union government's endeavour to secure hosting rights of the 2036 Summer Olympics.
Speaking to the media at the 'Olympic Day run' organised by Indian Olympic Association (IOA) at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here on Sunday, she said, "The Olympic Day was celebrated today in New Delhi, I am very happy that it had such a good turnout, the country is moving towards better infrastructure, facilities and developing better players, and we are ready to host the Olympics in 2036. We wish that the hosting rights are awarded to us. We will develop good infrastructure, and good players, in each state and every village very good facilities are being provided to the players."
Indian government has formally expressed interest in hosting the 2036 Summer Olympics and is preparing a bid, with Ahmedabad being a strong contender as the potential host city.
