West Indies smash record 405/7 against India, set daunting 406-run target

Guwahati, Sept 30 (UNI) West Indies produced a stunning batting assault to post their highest-ever ODI total against India, piling up 405 for seven in the second ODI at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium here on Wednesday after India opted to bowl.
Three centuries from John Campbell, Shai Hope and Amir Jangoo powered the visitors past their previous best ODI total against India of 389 and left the hosts facing a daunting target of 406.
Campbell set the tone with a blistering 101 off 68 balls, smashing nine fours and five sixes. He raced to his half-century in just 29 balls before Gurnoor Brar ended his innings at 147 for two in the 19th over, catching him at deep square leg.

Playing in front of a packed Diamond Court, Zheng earned the first break in the eighth game of the opening set, but Kalinskaya immediately broke back. Neither player could gain another advantage before Kalinskaya took the tiebreak to win the set 7-6 (4).
