80th Men’s, 19th Women’s All India Railway Boxing Championship begins in Visakhapatnam

Visakhapatnam, Oct 7 (UNI) The 80th Men’s and 19th Women’s All India Railway Boxing Championship-2026 commenced at the Railway Indoor Sports Enclave (RISE) here on Wednesday.
The four-day championship, being organised by the South Coast Railway Sports Association (SCoRSA), Visakhapatnam Division, will continue till October 10 and features participation from talented men and women boxers representing various Railway units across the country.
Visakhapatnam Divisional Railway Manager and SCoRSA President Lalit Bhora was the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony, while SCoRWWO President Jyotsna Bohra was the guest of honour.
Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries emphasised the importance of sports in promoting fitness, discipline, teamwork and excellence among Railway employees and wished the participants success in the championship.
The event provides a prestigious platform for Railway sportspersons from across the country to showcase their boxing skills and competitive spirit.
Senior Railway officers, including ADRM (Infra) E Santharam, ADRM (OP) K Rama Rao, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager K Pavan Kumar and Senior Divisional Finance Manager M Haranadh, attended the ceremony and conveyed their best wishes to the participating sportspersons.
