Health check-up of Delhi’s sitting MLAs to be conducted twice a year: Assembly Speaker

New Delhi, Oct 21 (UNI) Health check-up of sitting MLAs will now be conducted twice a year, once every six months, according to a decision taken at a meeting held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Delhi Legislative Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta.
The initiative aims to ensure regular health monitoring, early detection of potential health issues, and timely medical advice and treatment.
During the meeting, Speaker Gupta directed that regular health check-ups of all the sitting MLAs of the Delhi Assembly be conducted twice a year, and will be organized in collaboration with Sant Parmanand Hospital, starting from November 12 to 19, this year.
To ensure the smooth and systematic conduct of the examinations, the health check-ups will be carried out in two batches.
The first batch will commence at 8.30 am, while the second batch will begin at 9.30 am.
This arrangement will help ensure that the health examinations are conducted in an organised manner according to the prescribed schedule.
Gupta observed that public representatives shoulder extensive responsibilities and are required to remain engaged in continuous public service. In such circumstances, regular health monitoring and timely medical examinations are of considerable importance.
According to Gupta, the provision for health check-ups twice a year will help identify potential health risks at an early stage, facilitate timely treatment, and enable the adoption of appropriate preventive measures to address future health concerns.
The Delhi Legislative Assembly Secretariat will undertake the necessary coordination to ensure the effective implementation of the health check-up camp and the associated medical arrangements. UNI APS CDS
