Himachal: Congress to stage 'dharna' against BJP MP Anurag Thakur

Shimla, Apr 3 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee has called for a protest 'dharna' outside the Shimla District Deputy Commissioner’s office on April four, to condemn BJP MP Anurag Thakur’s remarks against national Congress leaders in Parliament.
The protest, to be led by State Congress president Pratibha Singh and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, will see participation from senior leaders and workers.
The Congress has accused Thakur of making "false and baseless allegations" to malign the party’s image.
The controversy stems from Thakur’s statement in Parliament, where he targeted Congress leaders, saying, “The Congress has a history of corruption and misleading the nation. Their leaders are experts in spreading lies and dividing the country for political gains.”
The Congress has strongly rebutted the remarks, calling them an attempt to divert attention from the BJP’s failures.
The 'dharna' aims to rally party workers and send a message against the BJP’s “negative politics.”
