HP: Candle march on April 5 to seek justice for late Vimal Negi

Shimla, April 3(UNI) A candle march will be taken out on April 5 at the tribal district headquarters of Kinnaur in Himachal Pradesh to demand justice for the late Vimal Negi, an organiser said on Thursday.
Led by his family members, the march aims to rise above politics and unite people from all communities in a collective call for truth and fairness.
During the march, future strategies will also be discussed to ensure a thorough and impartial investigation into the case.
Given the circumstances, Vimal Negi's family is contemplating approaching the High Court for justice, as they find the government's investigative efforts so far unsatisfactory.
Notably, his wife and relatives had waited for 15 days, honouring the Chief Minister’s assurances, while an inquiry committee led by Additional Chief Secretary Omkar Sharma was tasked with submitting its report within the same period.
Vimal Negi’s wife, Kiran Negi, and his elder brother, Surendra Negi, have reiterated their demand for a CBI inquiry, emphasizing that only an independent probe can bring out the truth. They fear that political and bureaucratic pressures may hinder justice, making it imperative to seek an impartial investigation.
Their objective is not only to secure justice for Vimal Negi but also to ensure that no one else faces a similar fate in the future. They are determined to expose corruption and prevent influential figures from misusing their power against honest and dedicated individuals.
Kiran Negi and Surendra Negi have clarified that this march is not affiliated with any political agenda; it is purely a fight for truth and integrity. They have urged the people of Kinnaur to participate in large numbers and stand together for justice.
Known for their honesty, loyalty, and sense of duty, the people of Kinnaur must uphold these values and ensure that sincere individuals like Vimal Negi never have to succumb to corruption or pressure.
The candle march is not just a protest—it is a movement to uphold justice, transparency, and accountability in society. UNI ML SSP
