Kejriwal family vote not in Delhi prior 2013, mapping done for names with 2002 poll roll: Malhotra

New Delhi, Sep 20 (UNI) Delhi BJP president Harsh Malhotra on Sunday said that the party has consistently maintained that Aam Aadmi Party leaders, whether Arvind Kejriwal or Saurabh Bharadwaj, keep looking for and raising new issues every day simply to remain in the news.
He said Bharadwaj has now started speaking on SIR, but cannot mislead people regarding the notice to Kejriwal's family.
The Delhi BJP chief further said that under the SIR system, in the first phase, only those voters whose names can be mapped with the 2002 Delhi electoral roll can remain on the Delhi voters’ list.
He stated that it was known to the entire world that before 2013, Kejriwal's family was a voter in Ghaziabad district, and therefore, his mapping in Delhi is not possible.
Malhotra further said that, Bharadwaj has held a press conference regarding Kejriwal's vote, adding that it would be better for him to understand that whether it is AAP chief or any ordinary citizen, mapping under Delhi SIR will be possible only if that person was a voter in Delhi in 2002.
The process of getting a new voter registered in Delhi is now open, and whether it is the Arvind Kejriwal family or any ordinary citizen, everyone can get their vote registered, provided they first get their name deleted from the place where they are already registered as a voter, Malhotra added.
Every person can have their vote registered at only one place in the country, the BJP leader emphasized.UNI APS CDS

SC to consider NHAI plea seeking clarity on its direction relating to stray animals on highways

New Delhi, Sep 21 (UNI) The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) on Monday moved the Supreme Court seeking clarification of its May 19, 2026 directions on stray animals, contending that requiring it to create and operate shelters, specialised transport facilities and related infrastructure across the national highway network would go beyond its statutory role and entail substantial manpower and financial commitments outside its existing mandate and budgetary framework.
