LG Electronics to provide six in-cabin technology solutions for Genesis GV90 SUV

Hyderabad, Oct 12 (UNI) LG Electronics on Monday announced the introducing of six advanced in-cabin technology solutions in the Genesis GV90, the luxury brand’s first full-size flagship SUV, covering displays, infotainment, entertainment and connectivity.
The technology package includes a variable pop-up display, an integrated infotainment system, the LG Automotive Content Platform (ACP), a rear-seat entertainment system, an eight-inch console touchscreen and a central communication unit (CCU) 2.0, the company said in a release.
The 24.6-inch variable pop-up central information display, the first of its kind in a Genesis model, adjusts to suit driving and entertainment requirements.
During driving, the display operates with a visible screen area of 23.6 inches, integrating audio, video and navigation functions with the instrument cluster.
When the vehicle is stationary, it rises by 90 mm to provide a 24.6-inch viewing area.
The integrated infotainment system, embedded in Hyundai Motor Group’s Pleos Connect platform, combines the instrument cluster, audio-video-navigation system and head-up display.
It also supports the Pleos Connect operating system and Gleo AI voice assistant.
LG’s Automotive Content Platform will provide access to streaming and digital services, including Netflix, Disney , YouTube, TVING, Baby Shark World for Kids, Haystack News and LG Channels. Zoom, Rakuten TV and HappyKids are planned additions, subject to regional availability.
Rear-seat passengers will have access to a second-generation connected car Rear Cockpit system featuring a 13.2-inch touch-sensitive OLED panel integrated with LG ACP.
An eight-inch console touchscreen will allow users to control vehicle functions, including climate control, doors, seats, lighting, media and massage. It also supports haptic feedback, cybersecurity features and over-the-air software updates.
The CCU 2.0 enables communication between the vehicle’s electronic control units and external networks, supporting functions such as remote vehicle control and software updates.
It has received TÜV Rheinland certification for compliance with ASIL-D requirements under the ISO 26262 automotive functional safety standard.
Eun Seok-hyun, president of LG Vehicle Solution Company, said the company was combining its capabilities in display, infotainment, content platforms and vehicle control technologies to deliver more seamless and intuitive experiences for drivers and passengers.
LG said it would continue developing integrated in-cabin technologies to support next-generation vehicle experiences.
