Mandhana powers record-breaking India innings in Asian Games

Nisshin (Japan), Sept 20 (UNI) India opener Smriti Mandhana continued her record-setting run in women's T20 cricket, adding multiple milestones during the Asian Games clash against Bangladesh here on Sunday.
Mandhana became the leading run-scorer in Women's T20 Internationals, taking her tally to 4,765 runs and moving past New Zealand's Suzie Bates, who has 4,758.
The landmark also took Mandhana to the top of the list for most runs across all three formats of women's internationals, with her aggregate reaching 10,964 runs.
Mandhana is already the leading Indian run-scorer in Women's T20Is and holds India's two highest individual scores in the format — 124 against Hong Kong in Dubai in 2026 and 112 against England at Trent Bridge in 2025.
She also reached the milestone of 100 sixes in Women's T20Is, becoming only the fifth batswoman overall to achieve the feat. Sophie Devine and Deandra Dottin lead the list with 134 sixes each, followed by Chamari Athapaththu (120) and Shafali Verma (102).
Mandhana had earlier recorded eight 50-plus scores in a calendar year in Women's T20Is in 2024, a mark Shafali Verma has now equalled in 2026.
At the end of 15 overs, India were 150 for two, with Mandhana's record-filled innings providing another significant chapter in her T20I career.
