Matiks raises USD 10 million in Pre-Series A funding

Bengaluru, Oct 27 (UNI) Matiks, a social gaming platform focused on mind sports, has raised USD 10 million in a Pre-Series A funding round led by General Catalyst, with participation from entrepreneur Ronnie Screwvala and existing investors, the company said on Tuesday.
The funding will support the company's global expansion, investment in new games and social experiences, and the launch of an artificial intelligence-powered game creation engine that will enable users to build and publish brain games without coding.
Existing investors Info Edge Ventures, Tanglin Venture Partners and Untitled Ventures also participated in the funding round.
Founded in 2024, Matiks started as a competitive mental-mathematics game and has since expanded into a platform offering games based on mathematics, memory, logic and puzzles. Its formats include head-to-head duels, daily challenges and single-player games.
The company said 2.2 million people played 48 million games on its platform in September 2026. Its daily active users have more than doubled since June to over 300,000, while the platform has also seen early engagement in international markets, including Japan, the United States and South Korea.
The upcoming AI-powered game creation engine is aimed at allowing users to develop and publish their own brain games, potentially expanding the platform's content through user-generated experiences.
Matiks aims to build a global social platform for mind sports by combining competitive gaming with social interaction and skill development.
" Our ambition is to make mind sports as culturally relevant as physical sports and esports, giving mental athletes, puzzlers and competitive players the visibility, communities and recognition they deserve," Sudhanshu Bhatia, co-founder and chief executive officer of Matiks, said.
The company believes AI could enable people across the world to create brain games that can be played by millions, positioning mental challenges as an alternative form of digital entertainment.
Bhatia said the platform was not intended to get people off their phones but to offer them more engaging experiences on their devices.
The latest funding comes as Matiks seeks to expand its presence in international markets and broaden its range of games and social features.
