Sanjay Kapoor says daughter Shanaya’s interest in acting grew from her film-world upbringing

Mumbai, Oct 9 (UNI) For Shanaya Kapoor, acting was an interest that took shape over time rather than a decision made overnight. Her parents, Sanjay and Maheep Kapoor, recently spoke about how growing up in a film family helped their daughter find her way towards the profession.
During a conversation on Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi's Double Date show, Sanjay and Maheep said that Shanaya never suddenly announced that she would make acting her career, but due to being in the filmy environment since childhood, her interest in this field kept increasing.
Sanjay said that the family already knew Shanaya was inclined towards acting. He explained that Shanaya worked tirelessly to hone her skills. Even during the COVID pandemic, she continued to train in belly dancing and work on her pronunciation and dialogue delivery.
Maheep shared an incident from Shanaya's childhood, saying that during the premiere of the film "Saawariya," she realized how much her daughter was fascinated by the film world. Shanaya was very young at the time and was excitedly prancing around wearing a lehenga. According to Maheep, observing Shanaya's actions, she sensed her daughter's fascination with the film world.
Sanjay revealed that Shanaya idolised her cousin Sonam Kapoor, and her fascination with her was one of the reasons she inspired her to pursue a career in the film industry.
Sanjay said that Shanaya has closely followed his career journey and she knows that along with success, there are ups and downs in the acting world.
In this conversation, Sanjay and Maheep said that Shanaya's interest in acting was not the result of any single incident or a sudden decision, but it developed gradually amidst the film environment, family members being actors and childhood experiences.
