Sonali Kulkarni in Neeru Sharma's 'Like Maa', first poster released

Mumbai, Sep 22 (UNI) Sonali Kulkarni will play the lead in filmmaker Neeru Sharma’s upcoming short film "Like Maa", whose first poster has been unveiled.
The 23-minute short film is set in an upper-middle-class family and sensitively explores the complexities of motherhood and intergenerational relationships. Kulkarni plays homemaker Anjana, whose relationship with her teenage daughter forms the emotional core of the story.
Written, produced and directed by Sharma, "Like Maa" explores the impact of family experiences, expectations and societal perceptions on relationships.
Speaking about joining the film, Kulkarni said she was drawn to the story's honesty and sensitivity. She said the director has presented the subject with soul and the character allows her to embody human emotions that everyone can relate to.
The film also stars Mehdi Khan, Mehan Soni, Smita Inamdar, Aishwarya Manohar, Hisha Joshi, Nandini Sharma, Komal Khimsaria and Ayaz Khan in pivotal roles.
Produced by Rajiv Parashar under the Niruvana Creations banner, "Like Maa" has cinematography by Akash Sethi, editing by Sandeep Kurup, music by Kaushal Mahavir and production design by Rucha Deogharkar.
