Telangana Govt aims to become USD 3 trillion economy by 2047: Bhatti Vikramarka

Hyderabad, Oct 30 (UNI) Telangana Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has said the Telangana government is pursuing a well-planned strategy to transform the State into a USD 3-trillion economy by 2047, with a focus on improving the quality of life of every family through employment, education, healthcare and livelihood security.
Speaking after inaugurating a two-day national conference on “Economic Growth, Sustainable Development and Public Policy” at the Dr MCR Human Resource Development Institute (MCRHRDI) on Friday, as part of its golden jubilee celebrations, he stressed that sustainable development requires a balance between welfare, fiscal discipline and environmental protection.
He said the government’s CURE, PURE and RARE policies aim to extend Hyderabad’s economic growth in technology, life sciences and services to manufacturing, agriculture and rural areas, creating employment opportunities across all districts. He highlighted welfare initiatives, including Mahalakshmi, Gruha Jyothi, 8 lakh Indiramma houses, 108 Young India integrated residential schools and one Telangana Public School in every Assembly constituency.
Stressing that welfare schemes should be assessed by their impact on people's lives rather than beneficiary numbers, he called for impartial research into their outcomes. He also emphasised the need for financial discipline to ensure sustained funding for welfare programmes and the maintenance of public infrastructure.
On development, Bhatti Vikramarka stressed environmental protection and quality rehabilitation for affected families in projects such as Musi River rejuvenation and Bharat Future City. He urged officials to use technology to improve public services, reduce delays and save citizens' time and money.
Calling upon government employees to treat public service as a responsibility rather than merely a job, he said postings in social welfare, labour, rural development and women's welfare departments should not be viewed as punishment. Citing former civil servants S R Sankaran and Parthasarathi as examples of dedicated public service, he urged officials to translate government policies into meaningful changes in people's lives.
