Patna, Apr 29 (UNI) Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey said on Tuesday that 27,375 Asha workers would be appointed within next three months across the state.
While addressing a review meeting of the State Health committee here, Pandey said that the selection process will soon be initiated for the appointment.
He said that Gram Sabha would select the Asha workers in the rural areas, and the local Mukhiya has been entrusted with the related responsibilities.
However, for the appointments to be made in the urban areas, the role of councillors would be important.
He said that within next three months, 21,900 Asha workers would be appointed in the rural areas and 5,316 in the urban areas.
In addition to this, 1,050 Asha facilitators will also be selected, and their appointment process too would be finished within three months.
Referring to the Pahalgam terrorist attack, he said the nation was hurt with the incident whereas the media of Pakistan has initiated a mission to defame Indian media just on the basis of the statements issued by the RJD and some other Congress leaders.
Terming it as 'unfortunate', Pandey alleged that some of the Congress and RJD leaders were acting as a morale booster for the enemies by speaking in the language of Pakistan.
This is the same Congress which had raised questions on surgical and air strikes and demanded proofs, he added.
