28 buildings to be constructed for MJP schools in AP : Minister

Amaravati, Mar 20 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Minister for BC Welfare S Savitha on Thursday said in the Assembly that 28 buildings will be constructed for Mahatma Jyotiba Phule schools at a cost of 1,210 crore in various districts in the state.
During the question hour, the Minister said that it had been decided to construct own buildings for 28 MJP schools in various districts.
The proposals for the construction of 28 buildings for the MJP schools by spending a sum of Rs 1,210 crore had been submitted to the Government.
Buildings for all the MJP schools would be constructed in a phased manner; she said, adding that letters were already written to the district Collectors to identify lands for the same.
The Minister recalled that there were 41 Gurukula schools before bifurcation of the combined AP state. However, during the 2014-19, the then TDP headed Government had sanctioned 65 Gurukula schools.
However, the Jagan Mohan Reddy headed YSRCP regime during the 2019-24 period sanctioned only two Gurukula schools.
At present there are 108 MJP schools in the state of which 106 schools were sanctioned by the TDP led government, Savitha declared.
