Kerala: BJP worker shot dead in Kannur

Kannur, Mar 20 (UNI) A 49-year-old BJP activist was shot dead at his under-construction house in Kerala's Kannur district in an alleged attack by a person with a country made gun on Thursday, police said.
Personal enmity between the two led to the incident, the police said.
The deceases, Radhakrishnan of Kalliad, a local BJP leader, was employed as a goods auto-rickshaw driver.
Police arrested N .K. Santhosh of Perumpadavu concerning the murder, and ruled out any political angle in the case.
The incident around 7 pm after a verbal exchange between the victim and Santhosh. According to the police, Santhosh went to Radhakrishnan's house with a licensed gun which he had got as a member of the task force engaged to kill wild boar.
He shot Radhakrishnan, who died instantly.
Hearing the loud noise, local youths rushed to the spot and found Radhakrishnan lying in a pool of blood. Pariyaram police later arrested Santhosh from a nearby site.
Radhakrishnan's body has been shifted to Kannur Medical College hospital at Pariyaram for post-mortem. UNI AK SSP
