9 terrorists killed in NW Pakistan

Islamabad, Mar 16 (UNI) Nine terrorists were killed when Pakistani security forces conducted two separate operations in the northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the military said in a statement on Saturday.
The operations were carried out in Mohmand and Dera Ismail Khan districts on Friday and Saturday based on intelligence, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military's media wing, said in the statement.
In the first operation in Mohmand, two soldiers and seven militants were killed when security forces launched a raid on a hideout of militants.
In another operation, two militants were neutralized during an armed confrontation with security forces, the statement added.
Pakistani security forces have intensified counterterrorism operations in recent months following a surge in militant attacks in the country's northwestern and southwestern regions.
