AIFF bids for hosting AFC Asian Cup 2031 in India

Kuala Lumpur, Apr 11 (UNI) In a significant development for Indian football, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) has officially submitted its bid to host the AFC Asian Cup 2031, joining six other contenders in a record-breaking response to the Asian Football Confederation's (AFC) call for Expressions of Interest (EoI).
The AFC, which confirmed receiving seven EoIs by the March 31 deadline, described the unprecedented number as the highest ever in the tournament's modern history. The announcement was made during the 6th AFC Executive Committee meeting chaired by AFC President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa in Kuala Lumpur on the eve of the 35th AFC Congress.
Alongside India, six other bidders have submitted Expressions of Interest to host the AFC Asian Cup 2031, including Football Australia, the Football Association of Indonesia, Korea Football Association, Kuwait Football Association, United Arab Emirates Football Association, and a joint bid from the Kyrgyz Football Union, Tajikistan Football Federation, and Uzbekistan Football Association.
