AP: Boat rally in Kakinada hailing fishing ban period compensation hike

Kakinada (Andhra Pradesh), Apr 29 (UNI) The fishermen and boat owners of the port city have taken out an impressive rally in the Upputeru with their boats by decorating them with TDP’s yellow coloured flags and flexes of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, hailing the enhancement of the usual fishing ban period cash compensation from Rs.10,000 to Rs.20,000.
City MLA Vanamadi Venkateswera Rao was in the forefront on the yellow flower bedecked mechanized fishing boat holding the Telugu Desam party flag.
The fishermen expressed their happiness and gratitude by leaving the yellow balloons into the sky and raised slogans in favour of the NDA government and Chandrababu Naidu.
The rally commenced at the Boat owners association office in Yetimoga and passed through the Jagannadhapuram bridge across Upputeru in Jagannadhapuram.
Venkateswera Rao while addressing the fishermen from the boat deck said that the Chief Minister had fulfilled his election eve promise by doubling the fishing ban compensation and also proved that he is committed to fishermen’s welfare .
The amount was already credited directly to the fishermen bank accounts. In the previous YSRCP government, Jagan Mohan Reddy has deceived the fishermen, he alleged.
In Kakinada city alone there are 390 fishing boats and over four thousand fishermen beneficiaries. The entire fishermen community is highly indebted to Naidu and would remain loyal to him.’ he added.
Fishing boat owners association president Sangani Nageswera Rao, Vice {resident Malladi Raju, Fishermen's cooperative society president Balasadi Rangarao, Boat owners Nati Babu, Palepu Dharmarao, Lankadi Raju, TDP leaders Mallipudi Veeru, Tummala Ramesh and Ommi Balaji participated in the rally.
