AP: CPI(M) stage dharna protesting against levying of additional electricity charges

Kakinada, Apr 3 (UNI) The Kakinada city unit of the CPI(M) on Thursday staged a dharna in front of the office of the electricity executive engineer protesting against the levying of additional charges in power bills.
They also raised slogans opposing the installation of smart meters.
CPI(M) district senior leader Duvva Seshu Babji while addressing the protesters criticised Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for going back on his word given during electioneering that they would not increase the electricity charges if they come to power.
He described the move to increase electricity unit charges during the peak load period as "atrocious" and warned that the government would have to face the wrath of the people sooner or later.
A CPI(M) delegation called on the executive engineer Uday Bhaskar and presented a memorandum listing out their demands. UNI KNR SSP
