AP: Home Minister inaugurates new police station building

Machilipatnam, May 14 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Home Minister V Anitha on Wednesday inaugurated the newly constructed police station building in Vuyyuru built at a cost of Rs 1.30 crore.

Minister Kollu Ravindra, Eluru Range IGP GVG Ashok Kumar, SP R Gangadhara Rao, Penamaluru MLA Bode Prasad, Vuyyuru Municipal Chairman Vallabhaneni Satyanarayana were among those who attended the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Home Minister Anitha said the police station buildings, which are in a dilapidated state, were being reconstructed. With the help of local MLA Prasad, Sajja Venkateswara Rao and some others contributed money to construct the new police station building in Vuyyuru. The new police station building consists of all modern facilities, she added.

The new police station building was constructed with a plinth area of 5,750 square feet with a waiting room, women waiting hall, reception counter, station writer room, counseling room, computer room and a lockup room.
The Home Minister went round the police station premises and expressed satisfaction at the facility provided. Though the construction of the police station building began with an estimated cost of Rs 2 cror, the project was completed at a cost of Rs 1.30 crore with the help of some local people, she highlighted.
Anitha told the police officials to widely use the CCTV cameras and drones in crime prevention and to ensure that peace and security are not disrupted. She also directed them to take strict action against the anti-social elements.
The Home Minister said the state government has always been committed to the welfare of the police and that it will take the lead in building police training colleges, police stations and other structures for the welfare of the police across the state.

IGP Ahok Kumar stated that the construction of a police station with all modern facilities was appreciable. He instructed the police officials to do justice to those who come to the police station to record their grievances.

The Home Minister made it clear that stringent action would be taken against those who uploaded objectionable posts on social media during the escalated tensions= with Pakistan.
She reiterated the government’s commitment to check the crime rate and cautioned the people to be cautious about cyber crimes. Later the Home Minister planted a sapling on the new police station premises. UNI DP SSP
