Telangana CM Revanth Reddy sanctions Rs 12 lakh for cancer patient's treatment

Hyderabad, May 14 (UNI) Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has extended crucial financial assistance of Rs 12 lakh to support the treatment of a cancer patient from Siddipet.
Siricilla Saicharan (35), a resident of Ensanpally in Siddipet mandal, was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia, a severe form of blood cancer.
The sole breadwinner of his family, Saicharan’s diagnosis came as a devastating blow to his wife Lakshmi Prasanna, two young daughters — Lakshmi Susagna (6) and Smaya (2 months) — and his parents Ramu and Sunitha.
In a desperate attempt to raise funds, the family sold their home to cover initial medical expenses. However, the treatment costs continued to rise beyond their means.
Upon learning of their plight, Reddy had earlier sanctioned Rs 5 lakh through the Chief Minister's Relief Fund (CMRF), enabling Saicharan to undergo stem cell transplantation at Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital in Hyderabad.
Further recognising the family’s financial distress, the Chief Minister ordered an additional Rs 7 lakh to be released from CMRF to cover ongoing treatment costs. The amount was formally handed over by government officials.
Saicharan and his family met Chief Minister Revanth Reddy at the State Secretariat on Wednesday evening to personally thank him for his timely help. The Chief Minister expressed his empathy and encouraged Saicharan to stay strong during the recovery process. UNI VV SSP
