AP: Kakinada MP inspects IIFT campus construction

Kakinada, June 20 (UNI) Kakinada MP Thangella Uday Srinivas inspected the ongoing construction of the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) campus at Ponnada in Uppada Kothapalli mandal. The campus is being built on 25 acres of land.
The MP reviewed the progress of the classrooms, hostel buildings, laboratory, and other facilities.
He instructed the engineers and contractors to maintain quality and standards in the execution of the work.
The MP said the campus construction, which began three years ago with a budget of Rs 229.81 crores, was delayed due to the previous government's failure to release funds. However, after his personal intervention, the work has picked up pace, and 80 percent of the work has been completed.
Srinivas claimed that he recently secured Rs 25 crores from the central government for the project.
