Chief Postmaster General urges CS regarding mutation of postal lands in Telangana

Hyderabad, June 20 (UNI) Dr. P.V.S. Reddy, Chief Postmaster General, Telangana Postal Circle, on Friday requested Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao to issue instructions to District Collectors to expedite the process of mutation of postal lands in Telangana.
Dr Reddy met the Chief Secretary at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat here for strengthening of digital and rural postal infrastructure in Telangana, an official release said here.
During the meeting, Dr. Reddy informed that in 1,014 Gram Panchayats, Post Offices have been co-located in Gram Panchayat buildings and requested for further instructions to District Collectors to facilitate co-location of remaining 4,429 Post offices in Gram Panchayat buildings.
The Chief Postmaster General briefed the Chief Secretary on the nationwide launch of 'Know our PIN Code' and 'Know Your DIGIPIN' and requested for integration of DIGIPIN into the workflows of key State Government departments such as Disaster Response, Health, Police, Civil Supplies and Revenue for improved service delivery, especially in rural and underserved areas.
For example, he said that in case of a highway accident, when a caller struggles to describe their location, the DIGIPIN platform, which assigns a unique code to every 4m x 4m square area, enables emergency responders to pinpoint the exact spot, ensuring timely medical aid and police assistance.
During flood relief, the DIGIPIN platform's precise 4m x 4m geocoding helps authorities accurately tag and reach affected households, enabling targeted delivery of food, medicine, and shelter kits without ambiguity, the Chief Postmaster General said.
The Chief Secretary responded positively and assured cooperation on all fronts.
