Itanagar, May 12 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein while gracing the grand 2025 Poi-Lu-Chong cum Buddha Jayanti celebrations held at Nampong village in Namsai district on Monday inaugurated the newly constructed Lungchaseng Buddha Vihara. The Vihara is envisioned to serve as a centre for spiritual enrichment, reflection, and communal harmony.
The event witnessed a vibrant display of spiritual fervour and cultural traditions, bringing together devotees, dignitaries, and community members from across the region.
Highlighting the significance of the occasion, Mein emphasized the need to preserve cultural heritage while promoting inclusive and sustainable development. “Education is the foundation of empowerment. Without it, society remains in darkness. Let us invest in our youth, value the voices of both women and men, and build a society where all can grow together,” he appealed.
The day-long celebration featured traditional Tang Thi Kongma procession, devotional chanting, Dhamma discourses, and cultural presentations that highlighted the message of peace, harmony, and unity espoused by Lord Buddha.
The event was also attended by Arunachal East MP Tapir Gao, Ministers Wangki Lowang and Biyuram Wahge, MLA Chau Zingnu Namchoom, venerable Bhantes and revered members of Bhikkhu Sangha, among others.
