Arunachal Govt signs MoU with CHF for policy impact assessment

Itanagar, Mar 19 (UNI) In a significant step towards integrating research-driven analysis into governance, the Department of Finance, Planning, and Investment, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the College of Horticulture & Forestry, Central Agricultural University (CAU), Pasighat, to encourage academic research for policy impact assessment.
Under this partnership, the College of Horticulture & Forestry (CHF) will conduct an evaluation study of five flagship Chief Minister’s schemes, including Atma Nirbhar Krishi Yojana, Atma Nirbhar Bagwani Yojana, Atma Nirbhar Plantation Yojana, Atma Nirbhar Pashu Palan Yojana, and Atma Nirbhar Matsya Palan Yojana, official sources said on Thursday.
The MoU was signed on Wednesday by Secretary, of Planning and Investment, RK Sharma, on behalf of the Government of Arunachal Pradesh, and CHF Dean Dr BN Hazarika, representing CAU, Pasighat.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary Sharma highlighted that the state government has allocated the necessary funds to support this evaluation study. He emphasized that the study will provide valuable insights into the impact of the Atmanirbhar schemes, which aim to enhance self-reliance in agriculture, horticulture, plantation, livestock, and fisheries sectors.
Meanwhile, Dr Hazarika underscored the importance of academic research in fostering evidence-based policymaking. He stressed that collaborations between academia and government agencies are crucial for informed decision-making and sustainable policy implementation.
