Bandi Sanjay Kumar criticizes Chennai delimitation meeting as 'gang of thieves' gathering

Karimnagar (Telangana), Mar 22 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, on Saturday strongly criticized the meeting held in Chennai, under the chairmanship of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin, calling it a gathering of a “gang of thieves” under the guise of delimitation discussions.
Speaking to the media in Chamanapalle in Karimnagar district, Bandi Sanjay Kumar alleged that the parties participating in the meeting were those involved in the liquor scam, including the DMK government, which he claimed was entangled in a Rs. 1,000 crore liquor scandal.
He stated that people are frustrated with Stalin's governance and that the Congress party has lost public trust due to its corrupt rule in Telangana and alleged fraud in the name of its six guarantees.
He further accused the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) of collaborating with Congress to escape accountability for corruption cases from the past decade, asserting that the alignment of these two parties has been exposed once again.
Bandi Sanjay alleged that all the parties involved in the Chennai meeting were engaging in divisive politics by misleading people about delimitation while unfairly blaming the Modi-led central government.
He asserted that no decision had been taken by the central government on delimitation and criticised opposition parties for spreading misinformation to incite regional tensions.
He recalled that Union Ministers Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh had already clarified in Parliament that there would be no reduction in seats for the southern states due to delimitation.
He emphasised that baseless allegations and political conspiracies would not prevent the rise of the BJP in the South.
Reiterating the party’s commitment, he declared that once the BJP comes to power in Telangana, it will ensure quality education and free medical treatment for the poor.
Responding to speculations about his possible appointment as Telangana BJP president, Bandi Sanjay dismissed the rumours, stating that he is not in the race for the post.
He affirmed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the national leadership had entrusted him with the role of Union Minister and urged BJP workers to remain disciplined and follow the party's decisions. He asserted that all speculation in the media and social media regarding the state president position was false, as no decision had been made by the party leadership.
Highlighting BJP’s growing influence in Telangana, Bandi Sanjay pointed out that the party currently holds eight MP seats, eight MLA seats, and three MLC positions in the state.
He also took a jibe at former Telangana Minister K T Rama Rao (KTR) over his past remarks about KCR’s role in national politics.
Referring to KCR’s previous claims of influencing national politics, Bandi Sanjay mocked that instead of leading national initiatives, KCR is now confined to his farmhouse.
“He made similar claims during the Maharashtra elections and before the last Assembly elections, but what happened? KCR, who once boasted about spinning the wheel of national politics, is now plucking grass in his farmhouse,” he remarked.
