Banks should give crop loans to farmers immediately: Minister Ashok Uike

Chandrapur, May 10 (UNI) The Kharif season is very important for farmers, and it is in this season that the farmers' families earn their livelihood throughout the year, Tribal Development Minister and Guardian Minister of the district, Dr. Ashok Uike said on Saturday, adding that banks should provide crop loans to farmers immediately.
Speaking at a pre-kharif season review meeting organised by the Agriculture Department at the Planning Hall, the Minister said that banks should not cut the funds/grants of farmers' schemes into crop loans.
He said a very detailed planning should be done for farmers by keeping abundant availability of fertilisers and seeds in the district.
On this occasion, MLAs Sudhir Mungantiwar, Kirtikumar Bhangadia, Karan Devtale, Devrao Bhongale, District Collector Vinay Gowda among others were present.
Stating that many complaints have been received in the district regarding fertiliser linking, Guardian Minister Dr. Uike said that a review meeting will be held soon regarding the linking. This issue will also be raised in the state-level pre-kharif season meeting.
He said it should be ensured that there is no transportation, sale or storage of stolen BT in the district. For this, teams should be formed and patrolled.
The village level agricultural machinery should go to the villages and guide the farmers. Information about the agricultural matters of the district will be presented in the state level meeting, added Dr. Uike.
