BC associations on dharna at Jantar Mantar, demanding 42 pc reservation

Hyderabad/New Delhi, Apr 2 (UNI) Backward Class (BC) groups, under the auspices of the Backward Class Welfare Association National Committee, began their dharna at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi, on Wednesday, demanding that the Centre implement 42 per cent reservation by including it in the Ninth Schedule of the Constitution.
It is known that the Telangana Assembly has passed the BC Bill, providing 42% reservation for BCs in education, employment, and politics.
The BC groups have invited all parties, including the Congress, to join the dharna.
Telangana Ministers Konda Surekha, Ponnam Prabhakar, TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud, Government Whip Adi Srinivas, Senior Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao, and others participated in the protest.
AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi, MPs Kanimozhi, Supriya Sule, and other leaders also attended the protest to express their solidarity.
AICC leader Rahul Gandhi, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, and others are also expected to participate in the dharna.

AP: Two boys drown in Yeleru canal while bathing

Kakinada, Apr 2 (UNI) Two boys who came for the village deity Nookalamma Festival in Kandrakota village of Peddapuram Mandal went for bathing and drowned in nearby Yeleru canal on Wedmesday, police said.
The body of a nine-year-old boy was retrieved a little later and search is on for the other boy/
