Be alert, be active, be for the Nation every day, J&K BJP chief to cadre

Jammu, May 6 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir BJP President Sat Sharma while referring to the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which resulted in the tragic martyrdom of 26 tourists described the current times as “disturbing" and called upon the cadre to remain vigilant and intensify their dedication in response to such challenges.
Chairing an organizational meeting of party activists of Akhnoor flanked by MLA Mohan Lal Bhagat, BJP District President Kuldeep Raj Sharma, DDC Bhushan Bral, Daljit Chib, Manmohan, Jagdish Bhagat, Sharma emphasized the importance of implementing organizational programmes at the grassroots level.
He highlighted that a dedicated BJP activist remains active all 365 days of the year, fully committed to serving the nation and society.
Sharma praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, stating that the Modi-led government has responded decisively to terrorism and remains committed to protecting citizens from both internal and external threats.
He also urged party activists to actively participate in initiatives such as the Union government's Mock Drills, aimed at raising awareness without causing panic.
Sharma also underlined the significance of the Caste Census, highlighting its relevance for inclusive governance.
Mohan Lal Bhagat reiterated the commitment of the Narendra Modi government to work for the welfare of the needyh through various dedicated public welfare schemes and the effort of the BJP’s MLAs to pursue the ‘welfare mission’ at the ground level.
Kuldeep Raj Sharma reaffirmed his faith in the dedication of the BJP activists in striving for the safety of the nation and the welfare of the people.
Later, Sat Sharma also presided over a second organizational meeting at Mehra Mandrian in Akhnoor, which saw participation from BJP activists of the respective Mandal.

Kashmiri journalist detained for 'instigating secessionist sentiment' on social media

Srinagar, May 6 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Police’s Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) wing on Tuesday detained a Kashmiri journalist, accusing him of “posting extremist content on social media.”

Police said Hilal Mir, a resident of Bemina Srinagar was detained as he "used to disseminate extremist or distorted content with an intention to disturb peace and promote disaffection and secessionist ideology and present India in a bad shape.”

Police statement didn’t mention Mir as a journalist.
Mir, an independent reporter, has previously worked with media organsations including Hindustan Times and Srinagar based newspapers. He also freelanced for Anadolu Agency, TRT and Huffpost.
