Good education and intellectual ability key to developed India: Rajasthan Governor Bagde

Jaipur/Kotputli-Behror, May 6 (UNI) Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Kisanrao Bagde on Tuesday emphasised that good education and intellectual ability are crucial for achieving the vision of a developed India.

He was addressing a district-level review meeting with officials in Kotputli-Behror at DY Jain Institute of Manufacturing Excellence (DJIME) in Neemrana.

Bagde stressed that government welfare schemes should reach every eligible beneficiary in a time-bound manner, and people should not have to run from pillar to post for getting their benefits.

He directed officials to ensure that farmers and livestock owners are informed about schemes that can increase their income and bring them into the mainstream of development.

During the review meeting, Bagde underscored the importance of education in developing intellectual capacity and encouraged teachers to focus on both bookish knowledge and intellectual development of students.

He highlighted India's rich history and ancient texts, which offer valuable lessons for today's youth.



The Governor reviewed the progress of various departments and directed officials to implement the new education policy effectively, enrolling children above three years of age and bringing drop-out students back to school.

He also highlighted the need for sensitivity in implementing schemes like MGNREGA, promoting tree plantation, and constructing sports stadiums, community halls, and other infrastructure in rural areas.



Bagde reviewed the implementation of schemes like PM Awas Yojana, PM Gram Sadak Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission, and PM Kusum Yojana, and directed officials to ensure that benefits reach the intended beneficiaries.

He also stressed the importance of soil health cards, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, National Health Mission, and other schemes in improving the lives of people. UNI XC AKT SSP

Kashmiri journalist detained for 'instigating secessionist sentiment' on social media

Srinagar, May 6 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Police’s Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) wing on Tuesday detained a Kashmiri journalist, accusing him of “posting extremist content on social media.”

Police said Hilal Mir, a resident of Bemina Srinagar was detained as he "used to disseminate extremist or distorted content with an intention to disturb peace and promote disaffection and secessionist ideology and present India in a bad shape.”

Police statement didn’t mention Mir as a journalist.
Mir, an independent reporter, has previously worked with media organsations including Hindustan Times and Srinagar based newspapers. He also freelanced for Anadolu Agency, TRT and Huffpost.
