Bengaluru records hottest day of the year

Bengaluru, Mar 14 (UNI) The city witnessed its hottest day of the year on Friday as the maximum temperature soared to 35.6°C, breaching the 35-degree mark for the first time this summer.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the temperature recorded at HAL Airport stood at 35.6°C, while Kempegowda International Airport saw a high of 35.5°C.

"So far, the maximum temperature recorded was about 34°C, but now it has crossed 35°C, making Friday the hottest day of the year. The temperature will remain above 35°C for the next three to four days," said CS Patil, scientist and director of IMD Bengaluru.

The IMD has also indicated that there will be no cloud formation over Bengaluru in the coming days, leading to continued hot and humid conditions.

Several districts in Kalyana Karnataka and Kittur Karnataka also experienced scorching temperatures, with maximum temperatures exceeding 40°C in many areas.

Weather experts have urged residents to take precautions against heat-related ailments, advising adequate hydration and limited exposure to direct sunlight during peak hours. UNI BDN SSP
