Bihar: Couple killed for practising witchcraft in Jamui

Jamui, Mar 17 (UNI) Locals killed a couple on suspicion they were practising witchcraft in Bihar's Jamui district on Monday, police said.

Police said here that a person Phagu Khera had died of natural causes at Chilko village, but the locals suspected that he was the victim of witchcraft practised by Jageshwar Bhulla and his wife Jaso Devi.
The locals attacked the couple with sharp weapons, killing both of them, the police said.
"Both the bodies have been sent for postmortem ", police said adding that District Superintendent of Police Madan Kumar Anand and Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar visited the spot after the incident.
Patrolling has been intensified in the area and raids were being carried out to nab the culprits involved in the incident, police informed. UNI XC KKS SSP
