BRS MLC Kavitha welcomes India-Pakistan ceasefire, seeks clarity on US role

Hyderabad, May 11 (UNI) Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Member of Legislative Council (MLC) Kalvakuntla Kavitha, daughter of former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), has welcomed the recent ceasefire announcement between India and Pakistan but expressed concerns regarding the role of the United States in the development.

In a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Kavitha stated, I welcome the ceasefire announcement between India and Pakistan and commend our Armed Forces for their unwavering courage and success in countering terrorism.

India has consistently maintained that matters with Pakistan should remain bilateral. The recent involvement of the US lacks clarity.

I respectfully urge the Union Government to consider convening a special session of Parliament to address the nation on this important development.”

Kavitha emphasised the importance of transparency in foreign policy, especially when it involves sensitive issues such as national security and regional diplomacy.
