Chirag calls on Nitish, discusses political scenario before Bihar assembly elections

Patna, May 19 (UNI) LJP (Ram Vilas) President and Union Minister Chirag Paswan called on Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at his official residence here on Monday.
Paswan alongwith his party MP from Jamui Arun Bharti called on Kumar at his official residence one Anne Marg in Patna. Bihar Water Resources Minister and senior JD(U) leader Vijay Kumar Chaudhary was also present during the meeting. Latest political situation and coordination among constituents of NDA for next Bihar assembly elections, believed to have been discussed during the meeting.
Paswan, after emerging from the meeting did not divulge what was discussed during his meeting with Kumar. When media persons asked repeatedly, his only comment was " A number of issues were discussed ".
Party MP Arun Bharti, who is also brother-in-law of Chirag, however, said that issues related to development of Bihar were discussed. He also refused to divulge much more about discussion in the meeting.
The meeting between Nitish and Paswan has assumed much political significance as both are important leaders of the NDA. Seat sharing among constituents of the NDA could be a challenging task as Chirag has reportedly demanded 40 seats to contest in the next Bihar assembly elections, slated for October-November this year. At present, there is no MLA from Chirag's party in the assembly.
RJD spokesman Mrityunjay Tiwary, reacting to the meeting of Chirag with Nitish, said all was not well in NDA. Many pulls and pushes appeared to have hit the NDA, causing strained relations among its constituents.
JD(U) spokesman Abhishek Jha, however, described the meeting between the two leaders as a symbol of unity among constituents of NDA. He rubbished the reports of any dispute over the CM post in NDA, saying Nitish would remain Chief Minister even after the next Bihar assembly elections, slated for October-November this year.
