Congress, allies spreading misinformation on delimitation of constitutencies: Kishan Reddy

Hyderabad, Mar 22 (UNI) Union Minister for Coal and Mines and BJP Telangana President G Kishan Reddy has accused opposition parties of misleading the public on the issue of delimitation of constituencies.
In a statement on Saturday, he criticised the Congress, BRS, DMK, and Communist parties for attempting to create unnecessary fear among the people, alleging that they are using the issue to stir emotions and divert public attention.
Reddy stated that the formal procedures for constituency delimitation have not yet been finalised, and no specific rules or regulations have been framed.

However, opposition parties are spreading baseless claims that the South will suffer injustice, which he described as a reflection of their political desperation.
The Union Minister alleged that these parties are attempting to exploit the situation to attack the BJP rather than engaging in constructive political discourse.
Reddy further pointed out that the Congress is facing growing public dissatisfaction due to its failure to fulfill election promises in Telangana and Karnataka, while the DMK is dealing with increasing criticism over corruption and family rule in Tamil Nadu.
Meanwhile, the BRS, after losing power in Telangana, has been struggling politically, failing to secure a single seat in the last Lok Sabha election and not even contesting the recent MLC election.
The Telangana BJP President accused the opposition of deliberately trying to create a North-South divide in the country to cover up their own failures. He recalled previous instances where he claimed the Congress had attempted to create social unrest, such as the JNU controversy in 2016 and the false alarm on constitutional changes and reservations.
Reddy alleged that the latest attempt to spread fear about the delimitation process is part of the same political strategy.
He also targeted Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin, accusing him of using regional sentiments to distract from the failures of his government.

The Minister dismissed claims that the central government is trying to impose Hindi, asserting that the three-language policy in the national education system has been misrepresented by the DMK.
Reddy emphasised that for the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, national interest remains the top priority. He assured that the delimitation process would be carried out fairly, with inputs from all states, and that no region would be discriminated against.
He reaffirmed Modi’s commitment to strengthening cultural ties between North and South India through initiatives like the Kashi Tamil Sangam and Kashi Telugu Sangam.
Asserting that Modi’s leadership is ensuring equal development for all states, the Telangana BJP President urged people not to fall for opposition propaganda.
He assured that the BJP government, guided by the principle of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, will continue working towards a united and developed India without any bias in the redistribution of constituencies or any other matter.
