Patna, Apr 15 (UNI) National General Secretary of BJP Tarun Chug on Tuesday alleged that Congress and INDIA block constituents had not only insulted Bheem Rao Ambedkar but also trampled the constitution prepared by him.

Chug, while addressing a function of his party in Sonepur, said that Congress and its allies of INDIA bloc had insulted Bheem Rao Ambedkar, architect of the constitution. They had also trampled the constitution prepared by him , he pointed out.

" Those making much hue and cry over constitution were themselves responsible for trampling the constitution ", a BJP leader said, adding that Rahul Gandhi was seen moving all around in the country keeping the constitution in his pocket, but he should understand the fact that his forefathers had no respect for Ambedkar and the constitution. The then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had imposed emergency in 1975, crushing the democratic spirit of the constitution, he recalled.

" Former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi had opposed reservation for Other Backward Classes on the floor of parliament",Chug said, adding that Rahul Gandhi had advocated for winding up the provision for reservation in the constitution during his foreign visits. Leaders of Congress and the INDIA block stood exposed in public on issues being raised by them , he remarked.
