Cyber scam claims lives of 2 in Karnataka

Belagavi, Mar 28 (UNI) In a tragic incident, an elderly couple from Beedi village in Khanapura taluk allegedly committed suicide after being repeatedly harassed and threatened by cyber fraudsters who claimed that their photo ID had been used in a cybercrime.
The deceased were identified as retired railway employee Diego Najarat (83) and his wife Pavia Najarat (79).
According to police, the couple had been receiving threatening calls for the past few months from fraudsters posing as law enforcement officials.
