Day temperatures above normal at isolated places over Assam

Pune, Apr 1 (UNI) Day temperatures were markedly above normal (5.1°C or more) at isolated places over Assam; appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at a few places over Himachal Pradesh; at isolated places over Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Saurashtra and Kutch, Bihar, Odisha and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim;
The day temperatures were above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many places over Punjab; at a few places over Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, east Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, west Rajasthan and coastal Karnataka; at isolated places over west Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, west Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat Region, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal and Telangana.
The day temperatures were below normal (-3.0°C to -1.6°C) at isolated places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam and Andaman and Nicobar Islands and near normal over rest parts of the country.
On Monday, the highest maximum temperature of 42.0°C was reported at Jharsuguda (Odisha)over the country.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, west Madhya Pradesh, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, coastal Andhra Pradesh, coastal Karnataka north interior Karnataka and Kerala.
Mainly dry weather has prevailed in Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Rajasthan, east Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat State, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, south interior Karnataka, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.
Following observations for the past 24 hrs were recorded at 0830 hrs on Tuesday.
