UBT Sena to oppose Waqf Bill: Chandrakant Khaire

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Apr 2 (UNI) Former Shiv Sena (UBT) MP of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Chandrakant Khaire said on Wednesday that his party's MPs will vote against the Waqf Amendment Bill in Parliament.
The government has brought the Waqf Amendment Bill to grab the Waqf property, he alleged and said that
the Sena-UBT will clarify its position later.
Addressing a press conference here, he further alleged that the government is likely to transfer this land to its industrialist friends Gautam Adani and Mukesh Ambani.
He said, "When I was an MP, I was the chairman of the Waqf Joint Parliamentary Committee, the committee was brought to the city."
Khaire alleged that the government is planning to grab 55,000 acres land of Waqf property in Marathwada by passing the bill.
"Efforts were made to save the Waqf property. UBT is against it. Will oppose this Bill. This Bill is unfair to the Muslim community. The work of using Hindutva in politics is underway to show the Hindu community that the ruling party is anti-Muslim," said Khaire.
"The history till date is that those who have usurped the Waqf property have had bad consequences. Waqf is a donated land and since the government is committing the sin of keeping an eye on this land, they will have to pay for this sin," he added.
