Direct tax collections from AP and Telangana increased significantly: AP, Telangana IT Principal Chief Commissioner

Hyderabad, Apr 16 (UNI) The direct tax collections from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have increased significantly — from Rs 1 lakh crore last year to Rs 1.19 lakh crore this year — reflecting the region’s growing compliance and economic activity, said Mitali Madhusmita, Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, here on Wednesday.
The benefits of the New Income Tax Bill Will Be Reduced Complexity, Increased Compliance, Liberal Tax Rates, and Minimised Legal Disputes, ” Madhusmita said while addressing the gathering at the interactive overview meeting on “New Income Tax Bill & Finance Act 2025 (ITB 25)”, being organized by the Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI) here.

Chennai, Apr 18 (UNI) Apparently referring to Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankar's remarks
on the Supreme Court setting time frame for President to take decisions on a plea filed by
Tamil Nadu over the delay in Governor granting assent to Bills passed in the State Assembly,
Chief Minister and DMK President M K Stalin said “no one, however high, can be above the
law.”
