Discrimination being done in posting in police stations: Akhilesh

Lucknow, Apr 22 (UNI) Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday reiterated discrimination in postings in police stations under the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government and alleged that it is anti-PDA.
Addressing a press conference after the meeting of the national and state executive of Samajwadi Yuvjan Sabha at the state headquarters, citing example of Chitrakoot, Mahoba, Prayagraj, Agra and Mainpuri districts, Akhilesh said that people of same caste are posted in most of the police stations.
He said, "90 percent of PDA is being neglected. It is being discriminated against. SP has released the data of postings in police stations and police stations by taking it out from the government website. Ever since SP has exposed the figures, the government has shut down the website and now by manipulating the figures of the police lines of the entire district along with the police stations, an officer has been put forward to give clarification.
The SP chief said that the clarification should be given by the Chief Minister himself and not by the officer. It may be noted that Director General of Police (DGP) Prashant Kumar on Monday refuted the claims and advised people in responsible positions to avoid such misleading comments.
The DGP said that such information being spread on social media is baseless and to refute it, the police of the concerned districts have already released data.
Meanwhile, Akhilesh said that every section is facing oppression and injustice under the BJP government. "Dalit society is facing atrocities on a large scale. Every day in the state, Baba Saheb Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar's statues are being vandalised and insulted. The dominant people are not able to accept Baba Saheb's Constitution and Baba Saheb's popularity," he claimed.
He said that the BJP government has brought the Waqf law to hide rising inflation, unemployment, corruption, injustice, atrocities and its failures. "Through this law, the BJP government wants to snatch land. BJP is a party that snatches. By demonetization, it snatched people's money. It snatched job reservation from backward and Dalits. BJP now has its eyes on the land. SP is against the Waqf Act. We had voted against it," he said.
The SP chief said that the BJP government has failed to control inflation. "Inflation has reached the sky. The price of gold has broken all records. Today a poor man will not be able to give any gold item in his daughter's wedding. The BJP government did not increase the production of electricity by even a single unit in its entire tenure but made electricity expensive. Today all the power plants being built in UP were started during the Samajwadi government. Whether it is Kanpur plant or Etah plant. All these projects were started during the Samajwadi government," he said.
He said, "From the metro to the plants which the Prime Minister is coming to inaugurate, all are the contributions of the SP government. The BJP government could not take Lucknow metro forward even an inch. Metro work has not even started in Varanasi."
Akhilesh said that Samajwadi government gave the vision of development and showed how progress and prosperity can be brought. "Agra-Lucknow Expressway was built, Metro was built. IT City was built in which 6,000 youth got good jobs, parks and riverfront were built. Dial 100 and 108 ambulance service was provided. The Samajwadi government brought Triple IT and Sanskriti Vidyalaya but the BJP government stopped it. The Samajwadi government wanted to make UP a progressive state but the BJP government ruined everything," he alleged.
He said that the BJP government has no achievements. "It wants to take political advantage by spreading hatred in the society and causing riots," he said.
The SP chief said that the Zero Poverty Scheme of the government is a hoax. "The government claims that it is giving ration to 15 crore people in the state and 80 crore people in the country. This means that all of them are poor. The government should tell what is their per capita income. Actually the CM does not know anything. Some officer gave him a word Zero Poverty and he started speaking," he said.
He praised the Samajwadi Yuvjan Sabha and said that it is the heartbeat of the SP. "Yuvjan Sabha is our messenger of the message, these youth will go from village to village and street to street and tell the people about the policies and programs of the SP. These youths will save Baba Saheb's constitution and the reservation given in the constitution and will form the PDA government in the state by making SP win the assembly elections like in the Lok Sabha elections," he said.
