Dream of owning houses will be fulfilled under Bandra Smart City Project: Minister Adv. Shelar

Mumbai, Apr 3 (UNI) A programme to distribute contract documents of new houses to the residents being rehabilitated under the Slum Rehabilitation Authority in Bandra East was held at the Mumbai Suburban District Collectorate.
House contract documents were distributed to 10 beneficiaries by state Minister Adv. Ashish Shelar.
Speaking on the occasion, he said: "It is necessary to preserve the human face while carrying out development works. Therefore, the dream of owning houses of many families in Gautam Nagar is being fulfilled under the ‘Bandra Smart City Project’ in Bandra East."
District Collector of Mumbai Suburban District Rajendra Kshirsagar, senior officers and employees were present on this occasion.
Adv. Shelar, also known as the Guardian Minister of Mumbai Suburban District, said that this project is being successfully completed with the cooperation of the Maharashtra Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, Housing Minister and concerned officials. Efforts will be made to ensure that the residents enter their new homes before the Ganpati festival.
Saying that a decision has been taken to hand over 30.16 acres of land owned by the Public Works Department in Bandra East to the High Court, Guardian Minister Adv. Shelar said that the Slum Rehabilitation Authority has made available a total of 144 flats, including 77 flats of Omsai Cooperative Housing Society and 67 flats of Balaji Shop Keepers in Bandra East, after following up with the government.
Since it will take six to nine months to complete these flats, he said that agreements have been signed with the eligible slum dwellers, stipulating that 100 eligible slum dwellers will arrange alternative accommodation at their own expense, he added.
