Hyderabad, Mar 24 (UNI) The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Monday announced the biennial election for one Member of Legislative Council (MLC) seat from the Hyderabad Local Authorities’ Constituency on April 23, following the retirement of sitting member M S Prabhakar Rao on May 1.
As per the schedule released by the ECI, the notification for the election will be issued on March 28 and the last date of filing nominations is April 4.
The scrutiny of nominations will take place on April 7, while candidates will be allowed to withdraw their nominations till April 9.
The polling is scheduled for April 23, and voting will be held from 0800 hours to 1600 hours.
The counting of votes will take place on April 25, and the election process is expected to be completed by April 29.
With the announcement of the election, the Model Code of Conduct has come into immediate effect in the constituency.
Telangana Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) C Sudharshan Reddy has urged all stakeholders to strictly adhere to the Election Commission’s guidelines to ensure a fair and transparent electoral process.
