Eight militants nabbed in Manipur

Imphal, May 16 (UNI) Manipur Police and security forces apprehended eight militants in different operations during the last 24 hours.

Security forces arrested a militant from Heirok Part-III Keithelmanbi Loukon near a brick field in Thoubal district along with arms and ammunition.

In another operation, security forces arrested two militants from Imphal East district.

The state police in an incident arrested a militant from Khangabok Part II Maisnam Leikai in Thoubal district. Security forces arrested a militant from Khonghampat Awang Leikai in Imphal West district.

In yet another operation security forces arrested a militant from Khurai Chingangbam Leikai in Imphal East District .

Manipur Police also arrested two militants from Koirengei Bazar in Imphal East District .

In an operation police recovered a .303 rifle with magazine, one 9 mm carbine with magazine, two 9 mm pistols with magazine, 20 5.56 mm rounds, and other items from Libong-Duthang Junction in Tengnoupal district .
