Elderly couple found murdered in Alwal, Hyderabad; robbery suspected

Hyderabad, May 4 (UNI) A shocking double murder came to light in Alwal, Hyderabad, where an elderly couple was found dead under suspicious circumstances early Sunday morning.
The victims, Kanakayya and Rajamma—originally from Illanduk in Bhadradri Kothagudem district—were residing in Alwal, where Kanakayya worked as a watchman. Locals alerted police after discovering their bodies inside their residence.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the couple was brutally beaten to death with sticks, as evident from the injuries on their bodies. Relatives alleged that gold and silver ornaments worn by Rajamma and Rs 1 lakh in cash were stolen.
The police, along with the clues team and dog squad, are collecting evidence from the scene.
A case has been registered and an investigation is underway, police said.
