Ensure peace during upcoming festivals: UP CM Yogi tells officials

Lucknow, Mar 23 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday said important festivals like Chaitra Navratri, Ramnavami, Eid-ul-Fitr and Baisakhi are coming up, given this no work should be done against tradition and strict action should be taken against those who spread anarchy.
In view of the upcoming festivals, the CM reviewed the law and order situation through video conferencing and gave necessary guidelines to the officials regarding organising a three-day 'Janpadiya Vikas Utsav' in all the districts on the occasion of the completion of 8 years of the state government.
He said, "Important festivals like Chaitra Navratri, Ramnavami, Eid-ul-Fitr and Baisakhi are coming up. In the last 10 years of the central government and 8 years in the state, festivals of all religions and communities have been organised in a peaceful and harmonious environment. This has to be maintained in the future as well. No work should be done against the tradition. Strict action should be taken against the elements spreading anarchy."
Yogi said that during festivals, processions will be taken out at many places and fairs will be held. "This time is sensitive from law and order point of view on this special festival of joy and enthusiasm. Therefore, we have to be constantly alert and cautious. Deal strictly with those who issue mischievous statements with zero tolerance policy," he said.
He said all necessary facilities should be provided by the government during festivals. "All necessary efforts should be made to ensure that all festivals are celebrated in peace and harmony, keeping in view the local needs," he said.
The CM said, "Be extra cautious on the occasion of Alvida ki Namaaz. Ensure proper arrangements for cleanliness, hygiene and drinking water on the occasion of Eid."
He directed that roads should not be obstructed due to religious activities. "Additional police force should be deployed by marking sensitive areas. Police foot patrolling should be increased. Be alert regarding social media. Issue positive messages for the people. Hold a meeting of the peace committee. Take the help of the media for peace and harmony. Quick action and communication help in handling unpleasant incidents," he said.
Yogi said senior officers posted at police stations, circles, districts, ranges, zones and divisions should communicate with the religious leaders of their respective areas and other eminent people of the society.
"A small rumour can spoil the atmosphere. In such a situation, the police administration will have to remain alert. Keep an eye on suspicious people associated with cow smuggling and other related crimes," he said.
He said on Shri Ram Navami in Ayodhya and on the occasion of Chaitra Navratri, a large number of people will come to Maa Vindhyavasini Dham, Devipatan Dham, Maa Shakumbhari Dham in Saharanpur and Sitapur. "The organisation of these important festivals of faith and gaiety should be made an example of good governance and good management," he said.
He said, "Better planning should be done for crowd management. Attractive decorations should be done at important places. There should be good arrangements for drinking water, umbrellas and mats for the convenience of the people amid the scorching heat. Special deployment of women police personnel should be done at the Devi sites."
The CM said all types of emergency services including health should be kept on alert mode on the occasion of festivals. "All ambulances should be on alert mode," he said.
He said the verification of tempo and e-rickshaw drivers should be done on priority. "Minors should not drive vehicles. Tenants should also be verified. Strict action should be taken on crimes against women. Overloading should be stopped at zero point itself. For this, officials of the Transport Department should also be included in the task force formed in the districts," he said.
Yogi said that revenue disputes should be settled in mission mode on the basis of merit. "Weekly targets should be set for the settlement of new and old revenue disputes. It should also be reviewed tehsil wise," he directed.
He said that the central government and the state government have achieved unprecedented achievements in the direction of 'service, security and good governance'. "To make the general public aware of these achievements, 'Janpadiya Vikas Utsav' is to be organised in all the districts on March 25, 26 and 27," he said.
The CM said that all arrangements should be ensured for organising an exhibition based on the achievements of 10 years of the central government and 8 years of the state government and various welfare schemes, projects and works implemented in the public interest. "A special exhibition of replicas of all the projects inaugurated and laid by the central government and the state government in the district should be organised," he said.
He said the three-day fair will be inaugurated by the Minister-in-charge at the district headquarters in the presence of local public representatives. "A special short film prepared on the occasion of completion of 8 years and a short film focused on the successful organisation of Maha Kumbh should be screened and a development booklet should be released," he said.
He said in the three-day event, seminars and dialogue conferences based on six themes should be organised every day.
"In these sessions on the themes of farmers prosperity, women empowerment, infrastructure development, youth and employment, handicrafts and ODOP, safe entrepreneur-prosperous business and Antyodaya to Sarvodaya (social welfare, pension, ration), eminent people of the respective fields should be invited as speakers.
"Along with this, citizens doing remarkable work in various fields should also be felicitated," he said. UNI AB SSP
