Existing system will collapse if employees hold dharna: Telangana CM

Hyderabad, May 5 (UNI) Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Monday cautioned that the existing system will collapse if the employees hold dharnas with new demands.
The unions should not become pawns in the conspiracy of political parties to destabiliSe the government, Revanth Reddy said while addressing a special programME and presented the Zee Awards- 2025 to the unsung heroes of the Telangana Police department, here..
Employees unions should cooperate when the government is in trouble, he said, asking “Why are the employees revolting? Don’t the leaders of the employees' unions have the responsibility to stand by the people when they are in trouble?"
“The Telangana society will not tolerate it if the employees forget their responsibility”, the CM said .
Appealing to the leaders of the unions let us discuss if there is any problem. We are not here to fight. We are here to serve the people. Creating problems for the people is unwarranted and such forces never thrived in history, he said.
Facing tough situations, even for borrowing money, he said the government can do something if the state gets loans and “self-regulation is the solution in this difficult situation”.
Appealing to the employees' unions not to mortgage the respect of the state onto the streets, he said “We are all a family”.
The state's economy is ruined and it is a tough situation to do anything beyond the income the state earned, he pointed out.
The state government is burdened with the payment of Rs 7,000 crore every month, he alleged, accusing the previous government of keping pending Rs 8,500 crore retirement benefits arrears.
Some political parties are accusing the people’s government of not paying the pending arrears, the CM said.
The person (BRS Chief and Former CM K.Chandrashekhar Rao) who caused economic destruction is now sleeping comfortably in the farmhouse, said Reddy.
Maintaining restraint and spontaneous action is the need of the hour and not fighting against the government, the CM told the unions..
The CM also appealed to all not tohand over Telangana to a troop of ‘monkeys’ again.
